Elektrėnai cultural centre works on organizing various events: singing, dancing, arts festivals. Education programs: teaching to play on various music instruments, perform yourself in theater plays. Prepares and realizes democratic, ecological, management projects, youth exchange programs.
The aims of the Elektrėnai cultural centre are :
• to unite cultural workers for joint activity and creative cooperatior
• to represent members and partners of the centre during various negotiations
• to encourage competitive ability of human resources
• to develop international cooperation
• to unite cultural organizacions anr artists for organization of mayor projects
Elektrėnai cultural centre unite 38 cultural workers and more than 300 people which are active in cultural field. Elektrėnai cultural centre organises about 200 events per year - art projects, seminars, festivals, debates and other events.
Tasks
Volunteers will be able to organize various events for the local community, share their culture with the local people, and take part in traditional festivals organized by cultural centre and other organizations. To organize education activities for youth and children, care of non-formal education. Also volunteers be able to take part in the office work by preparing various official documents, taking care of financial resorts and technical work which is needed for administer planning events. The volunteer will spend much time in the organization with working stuff. Typical activities for the volunteers will be to prepare stage, class or other place for event day by making decorations, lay out furniture, prepare and hang information posters in town, take part in events like artist there it’s possible, to tidy events place before and after activities, write articles for newspapers with own impressions about passed activities. Typical day of the volunteer 9:00 Meeting in the office, talking about future plans, allocating jobs and etc 10:00 Assisting one of the workers by making decorations, creating posters. 12:00 Dinner 13:00 Assisting auxiliary workers by preparing classes, stages, workshops places for evening singing, dancing and etc. rehearsals. 15:00 Meetings with various communities for general activities planning. 17:00 End of the work day. Of course, volunteers will be able to arrange the timetable with different working hours on different days, depending on their and hosting organization’s interests. Volunteers must be aware that most of events are organized not through the work hours.
Criteria
Volunteers should be self-motivated, willing to take on new challenges, and open to working with people of all backgrounds and cultures. We hope to meet artistic volunteers which can sing, dance, play or similar and be opened to arts and culture. They should be prepared to come to the project with an open mind, ready to take on new ideas and ways of working. Volunteer should be communicative, creative, full of new ideas and able to communicate with people of different ages. Also volunteer should be prepared to work like auxiliary worker.
