Tasks
The work is aligned at the abilities and the interests of volunteers. They will participate in all activities. The basic tasks of the volunteers are: - participating in staff and thematic meetings - cooperating in nonformal educational projects: for example folk dance courses, outdoor and sport activities, excursoions, handicrafts and creative activities etc - supporting the organisation of feasts and festivals of the school - playing together with children indoor and outdoor - organising and facilitating own projects (e.g. cultural events, linguistic study group or sports activities) - supporting children in doing their homework - preparing and accompanying excursions - presenting their home countries, languages and cultures - making photos and videos about activities.
Criteria
One of our requirements is that we generally ask the volunteers to have a fair level of English, so that they will be able to communicate more easily with the people in the placement. Formal Hungarian language lessons are not provided as part of the programme for the project. The selection process will be done on the basis of written applications (application form and CV). Criteria for this volunteer position are: openness to learn the Hungarian language, reliability, respect of traditional folk music and dances, motivation to work with children, social/volunteer activities in home country. Volunteers should be willing to work with children aged between 7 and 15 years old. Experiences with photography and computer skills are additional advantages, but no conditions.
